Stupid media disposal stories abound. In 2008 the McCain US presidential campaign staff sold off a bunch of Blackberries with sensitive data (without wiping the data first). But they aren't the only ones. Our research indicates that folks have been doing dumb things with data for years. Therefore, the University of Delaware and the UCF team are partnering on a quick survey to figure out if labelling media appropriately would help remind us to wipe the data before disposing of it.
