This month’s newsletter highlights how Unified Compliance is driving innovation in compliance...
On the Lookout - Managing Content in our AD Library
One of the most common questions we’re asked is how do you decide what to add to your library?
Unified Compliance has almost 1400 different documents in our library and we’re adding more every day. So how do we decide what to add? There are a few paths:
- The document family is part of an Intelligent Insight Pack. With our recent launch of our new ControlSight Platform (click HERE to watch the launch webinar) you may have heard of an IIP (Intelligent Insight Pack). These IIPs were developed through some intensive curation of all the content in our library, what risk areas that content addressed, who used it, and for what purpose or business use case. Once we determined that an Authority Document (AD) should be in one of our curated IIPs we determined that those documents would be our number one priority on our mapping roadmap. In short, if a new version of any of the ADs in an IIP is released, we will map it as a top priority.
- A partner organization, like one of the many GRC tools we support, has requested that we include that content in our library to serve several of their customers. We are able to add content from the public domain to our library as long as there is a forecast number of subscriptions which may result from having that additional content in our library. This type of request must meet a minimum threshold of new user subscriptions.
- Customers with Mapping Subscriptions have requested the content. You can now purchase a “subscription” to our Mapping Team. With this type of subscription, you purchase mapping of a certain number of citations from ADs which our Mapping Team will add to our library over a specific term. For example, you may contract to have us map up to 1500 citations per year for a period of three years – the pricing is scaled based on the number of citations and the duration of the agreement. With this type of engagement, we provide a secure Sharepoint site where you drop the documents to be mapped, our team maps them and adds them to the library. This subscription can consist of a mix of private IP – such as your company’s internal controls and policies which are marked private and are accessible only to your organization or any document in the public domain which would be made available in our library.
- Finally, we still offer “bespoke” mapping engagements for customers with private IP who want a more interactive mapping experience. For these engagements we create a statement of work and set-up a shared project with a project manager on our end facilitating review and approval of all the content being mapped. Pricing on these projects vary depending on the volume of citations and the complexity of the content to be mapped.
We are working on ways to improve this process and ensure that we have the content you need available to you. Meanwhile, if you had previously entered a request in the now obsolete “Mapping Request Form”, don’t despair. We have all of those requests and are evaluating them against our IIPs and other customer requests. Soon we will be publishing an updated page on our website where you can enter inquiries and see a list of what has been approved for our mapping roadmap – keep an eye out for this in the new year!
